Pray for COP21

As the Paris climate talks begin, we enter the season of Advent. It’s a time when Christians everywhere are waiting and watching, preparing for the birth of Christ.

Many of us are concerned about the threat climate change poses to the earth, our God-given common home.

Advent, however, is a time of hope, for the Christ whose birth we celebrate is the light of the world, who comes “who comes “to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide our feet into the way of peace.” So as negotiators and leaders from around the world gather in Paris from 30 November to 11 December to shape a new climate agreement, Christians around the world are coming together to pray for an outcome that reflects Christ’s light.

Bound together in love across national boundaries, we’ll be praying each hour of the climate talks … and watching and waiting together. Will you join in? You can:
